The Case for Bush essays In the article The Case For Bush Charles Krauthammer gives his opinions as to why he thinks that President Bush shows the political courage needed in wartime and to as why he should be re-elected. With the ensuing election approaching Krauthammer states its significance with a war going on. Throughout the article Krauthammer clearly expresses his approval of President Bush and his leadership skills. Stating facts of how the president has acted and re-acted to wartime situations with good sound judgment and political correctness exemplifies Krauthammers creditability. Krauthammer starts the main body of the article with the start of the war on 9/11 and how he thinks George Bush comprehended the situation immediately. By acting quickly and declaring war on all terrorist and states that harbor terrorist, he fills that Bush had done something that was absolutely necessary. Krauthammer displays his logic for the piece by presenting the fact that with the tragedy of 9/11 how could the U.S. not go to war on terrorism and avenge the deaths of thousands of innocent Americans? The author goes on to write about the first 100 days after 9/11 and how the world saw some of the most important victories ever achieved in the fight against terrorism. Krauthammer lists the fall of Afghanistan, the insertion of a pro-American government, and the decimation of al-Qaeda required great political courage because, it was thought that this region was once believed to be unconquerable. The writer insights that Bush led and succeeded by mobilizing the American people within 10 days with one of the great speeches in modern American history, an address to Congress so compelling that 19,000 hockey fans in a Philadelphia arena stopped the game so he could be heard and they could be led.
